People
with a wide range of interests and skills are welcome and needed
in the Volunteer Coastal Patrol, in a nut-shell there's a job for
everyone. If you are enthusiastic, reliable, interested in
boating, fundraising or maybe operating a radio station you can
provide a valuable community emergency service and meet new
people at the same time. Full
training is provided so prior experience is not necessary.
Male and female applicants are welcome however you must be at
least 18 years of age. Members are trained in boat handling,
seamanship, first-aid, marine radio, navigation and much more.
By September 2007 we will be operating from a new base
on the northern side of the Entrance bridge, next to the boat
ramp. The base will be operational on
weekends and public holidays.
If
boating, by that I mean being on the water, is not your
thing membership is also open for shore-based Marine Radio
Operators (once trained) and active assistants (associate
members) who help with activities, such as: Education courses,
Administration, Fundraising , etc.
